A new build development for relocation of the GP practice on land that formed part of the Southampton City Council re-generation area of the City – formerly the part of the docks.

Health Investments Holdings was appointed after a selection process carried out by the GP practice and the PCT. The existing surgery was to be purchased by the City Council as part of the regeneration of the area and new facilities were required to house the GP practice and to facilitate the increase of patient numbers following completion of the regeneration scheme.

A site was located, owned by the City Council and plans prepared for the development. The Council insisted that the building design was a “statement building”. Following the demolition works an archaeological dig was commissioned before the main building works was started.
