A phased new build development to create two detached buildings one for each GP practice complete with ancillary medical facilities.

 

Health Investments Holdings were appointed by the practice in a “GP led” development. A suitable site elsewhere in the town proved impossible to find and it was agreed that the development should be carried out on the existing site which was in the ownership of the local NHS Trust. The site was purchased and leased back to the GP practice whilst planning consent was obtained. The practice then retracted into the rear of the existing health centre whilst the remainder was demolished and Phase 1 constructed. The Practice and PCT moved into the new development together with Lloyds Pharmacy. Health Investments Holdings worked closely with the Practice to avoid disruption to the existing surgery during the building works and built additional temporary accommodation to house some of the staff.

 

The remaining rear part of the building was then demolished to allow for development of phase 2. Upon completion Wayside Surgery who were located near by in a converted part of a residential house moved in with the Surrey Ambulance Trust, taking part of the first floor surplus space.

Build period – 10 months

– Office space for community nursing staff

– Treatment and minor operations suite

– Multi purpose room for sessional use

– NHS sexual health and contraception out of hours clinic

Phase 2:

Build period – 6 months

Total area – 500 sq.m over two floors

Accommodation:

– Consulting rooms and full ancillary accommodation for up to 4 doctors

– Treatment suite

– Multi purpose room for sessional use

– Paramedic and ambulance unit

– Future expansion space

– On site parking
