A new build development to accommodate a GP practices with accommodation for the NHS Trust and a pharmacy for Co-operative Pharmacies.

 

Health Investments Holdings were appointed by the practice to find a suitable site and develop new healthcare premises, after exhaustive searched it became clear that the only site available was that of the existing Health Centre, owned by South Downs Health NHS Trust. Negotiations took place and terms were agreed to purchase the existing building, the redevelopment involved acquiring land from Brighton Council to accommodate the practice in temporary buildings. Health Investments Holdings secured planning consents for both the temporary and new premises. The practice occupied the temporary building whilst the existing surgery was demolished and the new one constructed.

 

A grant from the PCT was obtained to go towards the costs of the temporary accommodation.

 

Build period – 11 months including the temporary build

Total area – 1,150 sq.m over two floors

– Consulting rooms and full ancillary accommodation for up to 7 doctors

– Office space for community nursing staff

– Treatment and minor operations suite

– Multi purpose room for sessional use

– Future expansion space
